From October 1 to 4, 2023, the first edition of Saudi Film Confex, organized by the Saudi Film Commission, was held at the Riyadh Front Exhibition & Conference Center. The Confex brought together numerous film and cultural organizations from Saudi Arabia, the Arab States, and beyond, and showcased the latest projects and innovations related to the film industry from Saudi Arabia and around the world. In addition to presenting the latest film projects, the Confex highlighted cutting-edge technology, equipment, and services related to production and distribution of films. The event is set to become a milestone activity showcasing Saudi Arabia's ambitious film industry aspirations to the world.
As the only Chinese cultural enterprise which was invited as an exhibitor, ORI Group presented its compelling film production and wide-ranging opportunities for cooperation to the Arab States..
ORI Group showcased a diverse range of works at the Confex, including animated feature films such as The Adventures of Petey and Friends, Polar Adventure, and Return, as well as live-action films like Kung Fu Diva and Rise of the Legend. Additionally, ORI also unveils its highly anticipated new animated feature films Sky Wings and Hockey King. Combining innovative storyline, superior production techniques and intriguing visual effects, these works attracted the attention of a wide range of film organizations.
On the first day of the Confex, ORI Group received a warm welcome from numerous cultural and film organizations across Arab States. By the end of the day, On the first day, ORI Group successfully sealed six co-operations, covering a number of areas such as film concepts creation, animation co-production, technical co-operation and work distribution. One notable collaboration involved Mr. Jamal, CEO of UAE-based Barajoun Entertainment, a leading animation film production company in the Arab States well-known for its magnum opus Bilal. Mr. Jamal, who missed the chance to attend the Sino-Arab Animation Industry Forum in Suzhou earlier this year, made a special trip to Saudi Arabia to finalize the agreement with the Chairman of ORI Group Mr. Feng QIAN. These collaborations are expected to lay a strong foundation for the exchange and development of the film industries between China and Arab States, bringing more outstanding film productions to audiences in both regions.
