On April 24, 2025, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment (MISA) officially granted Ori Group an investment license, marking the successful establishment of Ori Group’s Middle East Regional Headquarters in Saudi Arabia. Ori Group is now the first Chinese cultural enterprise to set up a regional HQ in the Saudi Arabia—an important milestone that signals a new stage of cultural-industry cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia.

Ji Jing, vice mayor of Suzhou, attended the license issuance ceremony and extended congratulations to Ori Group. Prior to the event, Vice Mayor Ji held in-depth discussions with Mr. Hassan Al-Duhaim, Senior Advisor to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment (MISA), exploring opportunities for cooperation between Suzhou and Saudi Arabia in investment, culture, and technology, and advacing mutually beneficial collaboration across more areas.

Ori Group’s Middle East Regional Headquarters will oversee Ori Group’s development across the MENA region, with core responsibilities spanning animation and film investment, game development and platform operations, cultural event planning and execution, arts education, as well as tourism and fashion initiatives. The establishment of the headquarters is not only an important step in Ori Group’s global expansion strategy, but will also bring high-quality Chinese cultural content and innovative industrial models to the region.

In recent years, Ori Group has played a leading role in cultural exchanges between China and Saudi Arabia, achieving notable results in promoting Chinese culture overseas. During the ongoing Sino-Saudi Cultural Year, the Middle East Regional Headquarters will continue to serve as a key platform for two-way exchange, helping more Chinese cultural enterprises expand into international markets and advance from simple content export to industry-level collaboration.

The issuance of the investment license underscores the Saudi government’s strong recognition and confidence in Ori Group, while also highlighting the close cooperation and international outlook of China and Saudi Arabia in advancing cultural exchange with in the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
